to practice on your arms. I will demonstrate and explain, then expect
each of you to try at least partially what I just did so you get the
feel of it. In real life, lines are busy and we must go fast, so all
we will do will also focus on speed and all kinds of tricks that allow
us to be more efficient. This course will cover a lot... Be ready to
learn! (in my classes, you are very welcomed to take pictures but only
after the pieces are finished.)
I will teach how to create easy backgrounds to achieve that perfect spot on the cheek to paint a main character.
Also amazingly colorful jungles, skies, waters, waves, always making sure the face, mostly eyes, look gorgeous.
We will tackle false tattoos, simple techniques that never fail.
Also how to please teenagers, guys and girls.. Girlish and flattering quick designs, as well as dark, gothic virile designs for the boys (and men..) All different shapes and sizes of reptiles, amphibians and dinosaurs. This class will go over some very basic simple designs as well as some very intense large sculptures, and dinosaur masks and costumes. LUCIE BROUILLARD
1. CLASS TITLE: Scenes on Faces
I will show how to create fast, easy and gorgeous scenes on half and
full faces. Tricks to double-load your sponge to obtain stunning
skies, waters, leaves, and jungle-like looks. Then with a few
brushstrokes, how to make mountains, beaches, cityscapes and waves. I
will also demonstrate how to build a fast half-face background so you
can create that perfect spot on the cheek to paint a main subject. This
plus magic tricks on how to obtain a clean, slick black outline.
2. CLASS TITLE: Teens and adults
This group is very easy to please, one must simply get away from
representative art and explore more into the abstract.
So I will show a few quick designs that are perfectly
transferable- stunning either on cheeks/eyes, chest/shoulders or arms.
We will play with the more feminine, delicate shapes and make
jewel-like creations..
then we will plunge into darker zones: gothic, tattoo-like designs
perfect for women and men alike. Finally, I will show how to create a
very credible tattoo by "
killing" my colors and using water to dilute my paints to give a
wonderful shading effect.
3. CLASS TITLE: Brainstorming for intermediate and advanced- plus colors!
Be my guests... You have questions, I will try to answer them through
various demonstrations. But what I would like to bring in that course
is the vital importance of colors and how to " marry" them.. There
are a very few but important rules to follow so we never miss our
shot. I have my own theory of 80-20, as in using 80% of a family of
colors for a piece, combined to its very opposite at 20%, and how to
separate, arrange them to give a maximum visual effect. Easy to
understand when you see it in action! That plus how to achieve very
thin, clear outlines.. a bit of colorful semi-improv live!
