Edgar Garayua

The Artist and His Work
My interest in make-up started when I used to impersonate Michael Jackson. Later, at the University of Puerto Rico, I was part of the traveling theater. I saw how make-up gave me the opportunity to be someone else, to be another character. Later I moved to Florida to work at the theme parks where it all clicked together: the acting, performing, and make-up skills. I performed with THE CIRICLY BIRDS SHOW, now CHAPTER ONE, where my make-up skills continued to grow. My journey continued as I was hired to work with a face painting company in several major theme parks in Florida. This is where I discovered face painting with water-based make-up. As my interest and skills in make-up continued to grow, I wanted to learn the art of airbrushing, to create a person into a new character that arose from my art. I never topped learning from my mentors and other talented face and body painters.
